PRESS SURVEY - GILARDINO: 'It felt like Milanello'
8/19/2005
MILAN - La Gazzetta dello Sport reported what Alberto Gilardino had to
say after returning from playing for Italy against the Republic of
Ireland: 'It was surprising during the game in Dublin: I found
Gattuso, Pirlo, Vieri ... it was like Milanello. It was a very easy
thing. The other easy thing is that the strongest Italian players are
at Milan, so the same language helps and therefore brings a feel.
Playing alongside Vieri will see me continue to improve. The goal in
Dublin gave me a great lift. The national side gives us at Milan an
incentive and Milan gives the national side a push forward.'
ANCELOTTI: 'The president was very content at dinner'
8/19/2005
MILAN - Corriere dello Sport-Stadio published a long interview with
Carlo Ancelotti: 'Berlusconi was not critical of me. It's an issue
that comes up a lot. I know our relationship. We went for dinner after
the Juventus game and he was very content. So I am not going to speak
about this issue again this year.'

Ancelotti added: 'The injury to Buffon was totally involuntary. Kaka
usually takes the hits not give them out. Milan are not a dirty side
and everyone knows that. Capello comments on the matter were
over-exaggerated.'
GALLIANI: 'Bobo is a great champion'
8/19/2005
MILAN - Tuttosport covered what Adriano Galliani had to say: 'I have a
received an excellent impression of the Vieri-Gilardini partnership, I
am really content. It's been some time since Milan had five out of the
eleven in the national team and they made a really good impression in
attack. I really liked Vieri's shot against the bar, it was a
wonderful left-footed volley, I jumped out of my seat. It was a great
technical move, Bobo is really a great champion.'
SEASON TICKETS PASS 45,000
8/19/2005
MILAN - Season ticket sales have reached 45,119, bringing in
13,375,907.00 euro. The sales for the Champions League first phase
have hit 13,928, bringing in 689.866,00 euro.
MILANELLO: MORNING TRAINING
8/19/2005
MILANELLO - The team started training at 10am CET until around noon.
After a warm-up for around half-a-hour, ten players made repeated ten,
twenty and thirty-metre sprints. Another group went to the gym to do
steps. Andriy Shevchenko and Sandro Nesta worked apart in the gym.
Jankulovski worked out in the gym while Seedorf, Rui Costa, Ambrosini
and Costacurta went running in the woods. There was a demanding
work-out for Rino Gattuso. The second session will be at 4.30pm CET.
STAM: 'We have to prepare well for the new season'
8/19/2005
MILANELLO - Jaap Stam was present at the Friday afternoon press
conference and said: 'I feel good, we have trained a lot since the
start of pre-season. We have been using the last two weeks to prepare
for the start of the season. Also we will be using this period to get
to know Ascoli better but I am sure they will be a good side. As for
our defence, we have played three and four at the back in friendlies
and also during training. Now it's up to the coach to decide. I have
played in a three-man defence a few times in my career, but for the
most part, at Manchester United and Lazio, it has been four.'
STAM: 'With three at the back Cafu moves up more'
8/19/2005
MILANELLO - Stam then talked about the differences between three at
the back and the more traditional formation: 'There is more space for
us defenders with three at the back and we can get involved in the
play more. It's an advantage in midfield as he have an extra man. Cafu
moves up more. Vieri and Gilardino? They did well for the national
side, but we cannot forget a certain Sheva ... Now we have to start in
the best way possible, we didn't do that last year but we must this
and not drop points.'
STAM: No distractions against Bobo and Gila ...'
8/19/2005
MILANELLO - The defender then commented on the title rivals: 'All the
teams in Serie A are strong. I would say that the strongest are Juve
and Inter. I hope Milan win, I think we have stronger individuals,
we'll see. Anyway, we know what we have to do, we've talked and must
start strongly.' Jaap then talked about Vieri and Gilardino again:
'They are two top players who have always scored and this is important
for us. Defenders can never become distracted against them. You can
keep them out for 89 minutes but in a minute they can score.'
AFTERNOON TRAINING
8/19/2005
MILANELLO - The afternoon session started at 4.30pm CET, with a
tactical session where the players worked on possession. There was a
nine-against-nine game, with one touch and then two touch. The team
then worked on defensive drills, with the players in lines of four,
attacking and then defending. The session closed with a
ten-against-ten game and the team will play training tomorrow at
4.30pm CET.
NO SHADOW OF CRITICISM
8/19/2005 9:23:00 AM
A lot of reference has been made about the post Milan-Juventus
comments that president Berlusconi made as he sent his best wishes to
Gigi Buffon and then spoke about Carlo Ancelotti and his workings with
the team although the first part of his statement clears up any
misunderstanding: 'Carlo is truly one of the family, I reserve the
right to use by own dialect but only to keep everyone alert.'
President Berlusconi then added: 'I am not casting the shadow of
criticism over Ancelotti and now and then I have to play around.' So
rather than putting pressure on the Rossoneri coach, Silvio Berlusconi
has been as frank as ever, just as he was with the likes of Arrigo
Sacchi. In fact, Milan and everyone at Milanello is in a relaxed mood
and as Manuel Rui Costa and Alberto Gilardino revealed exclusively,
the team is primed for the new season.
RUI AND GILARDINO AT MILANELLO
8/19/2005 9:08:00 AM
MILANELLO - Manuel Rui Costa covered a lot of various topics when
interviewed in midweek but started by discussing his own form. The
midfielder said: 'I have been fortunate to score three goals in
pre-season matches so maybe I am being looked at in a different way
but I know it isn't just this. I have had a good start even without
scoring. It helped that during the summer I did not put on weight
which is normal for me so I am pleased with what I have done as well
as the goals.' The Portuguese star then talked about the competition
for a starting spot and said: 'There is always a battle for places in
this side. I want to do everything in the world to do well for Milan
and I know what is demaned from the coach and team so I am pleased
that coach Ancelotti continues to play me.' Looking back at the Juve
game, he concluded: 'The collision between Kaka and Buffon was a
normal part of the game between two top players trying to reach the
ball. I am sorry for Buffon as he is a top player and great guy who
would never set out to hurt anyone. There were just two top sides on
the pitch on Sunday who wanted to win even if it was just a friendly.
In fact, both sides had the same attitude.'

Alberto Gilardino returned from international duty for Italy against
the Republic of Ireland yesterday and talked about the experience. The
striker said: 'It is something for Milan to be proud about that there
were five players starting. As for me, the more I play the sooner I
will be fitter. Bobo is in good form and that benefitted for me in
Ireland. He created depth and movement and we tried to do what we do
for Milan.' Looking ahead to the start of the season, Gila added: 'We
have to start well. We don't want a false start at Ascoli who could be
a surprise after their promotion to Serie A. They will want to do well
in their first game so it's a key-match.'

kepindahan Abbiati sangat baik bagi dirinya, coz udah
lama doski gak masuk line up awal, tapi gw cemas juga
tar malah bisa menyulitkan Milan lagi,gw sempet kecewa
sih kenapa harus ke juve, kenapa gak ke arsenal aja
lebih enak, tapi bagaimanapun gw gak bakal benci dia
meski penampilan dia bakal merepotkan Milan.
jasa dia terhadap Milan cukup besar kok, disamping
scudetto th 99,Abbiati juga berjasa besar kala Milan
menahan Inter 1-1 di liga champions th 2003,dia
mampu menggagalkan peluang emas yang didapatkan
martins
bola berhasil dimentahkan lewat kakinya dimenit-menit
akhir, kalo aja kiper itu bukan seorang abbiati, mungkin
milan gak juara.
